Design: Nurseries

7.27.2011

First of all, thanks for all the feedback on my first official baby post about my fears when it comes to pregnancy/motherhood. (If you missed it, you can read it here). I love that it triggered some great conversations with friends and I'm always surprised and encouraged when I find out who reads my blog.  If nothing else I feel much more normal now. I was surprised by how many of my friends have the baby bug too. :)

I have a fitness post coming soon, as well as that promised post of our one year anniversary photo shoot, but for today I thought I was overdue for a design post. I tend to save pictures of my favorite designs and since I've officially admitted to daydreaming about babies, I thought I'd share some of my favorite nursery designs that I've snatched up and put away for that "someday."

All of these designs are intended to be "gender neutral" nurseries.

I love the owls / outdoor motif. I also really like the wall art's set up and think I may do something similar someday (but with a different theme).
I love this Dr. Suess themed nursery.
The colors, the polka dot wall art, the monogram...love love love.
Homemade flower pom poms are a great inexpensive decor trick that I have every intention of trying someday.

Last but not least, I have always wanted to have a Calvin and Hobbes themed room in my house. I adore Calvin and Hobbies and have plans to do a mural in one of my kids room one day. Of course I won't be able to do this until we buy a house so it may be a little ways in the future. A quick google search will tell you that this idea is not completely original. So far, of all the murals I've come across, this is my favorite:
